Very first UK pressing on Vertigo Swirl, with the correct label style and matt gatefold sleeve
- Small swirl logo on labels
- 'VERTIGO' appears above the spindle hole
- Matt gatefold sleeve - no printer's credit
- No artist/title/catalogue number on spine
This UK 1st pressing for sale today is a rare orginal example and a very worthy collection filler until a Mint one comes along. Sleeve is only slightly worn on edges and spine with a ring impression to front and few light indentations (only visible when angled under light) a couple of surface tears to rear sleeve. The vinyl is in VG-/EX condition. It's reasonably well played but still plays very well throughout. Vinyl weight is a modest 120g and looks reasonably shiny and clean but does have several light hairlines under string light and some light surface scratches that don't affect the playback other than light background ticks/pops. B side is better looking and playing than A side.

Audio is reasonably clean, light to moderate background crackle audible on run ins/intros and in between tracks, audible on the quieter sections but easily covered by the louder audio. A side plays with light background crackle and a few ticks/pops here and there but surprisingly not too intrusive (bit more obvious in track 2 side 1, otherwise quite nice. Nice tone throughout. VG-. B side looks better than A side and starts with a few light ticks (looks like a needle drop mark) but then plays very nicely indeed. Rest of side B plays through without any problems other than 1 pop I heard. Plays as EX for B side. NO JUMPS, NO STICKS throughout both sides!
Not a mint playing copy, sadly (but you'll pay a lot for that these days!) but still plays well and sounds nice throughout (just those few ticks/pops really).
Sleeve is in very good condition with slight ringwear to front, a few indentations (visible when angled into light). Rear seeve has two sticker removal tears. Spine and edges are reasonably good with only moderate wear. Inner gatefold is excellent with just one patch of wear.
Labels are clean but with a few spindle traces visible. Small swirl with 'VERTIGO' above the spindle hole - correct for a first pressing.
Plain white, poly lined inner sleeve in excellent condition.
