GENTLE GIANT Octopus Vertigo Swirl 1st Press Original UK LP Near Mint Archive!!
GENTLE GIANT Octopus. Vertigo 6360 080. 1972.
Very rare original UK LP on the original Vertigo swirl label. This is a quite stunning and exquisite example and it would be extremely hard to upgrade from this copy, both in terms of the condition of the sleeve and the LP itself.
VINYL: NEAR MINT
Matrix Numbers (machine stamped):

The vinyl visually grades at Near Mint. The record still retains its full deep gloss and is in superb condition on both sides. Under an extremely bright halogen light it is possible to just make out just a handful of feint hairlines and tiny imperfections. It is an incredibly clean copy which justifies its near mint grading, it is a stunning example. The LP looks as if it can only have been played a handful of times maximum.
LABELS: NEAR MINT
Both labels are clean with no writing or significant defects. I cannot see any real signs of spindle marks when angling the label to bright halogen light. Superb condition on both sides. The label on side B contains the Excellency Music variant of the credit on this LP.
OUTER GATEFOLD SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
Quite simply about the best condition you could reasonably expect this LP to be in after some 43 years. Worn sleeves of this LP tend to exhibit a light green powdery smudging which is commonly seen around the edges of the cover. On this copy that is at an absolute minimum and the spine and edges are virtually perfect in all regards. The front and back covers contain just a few incredibly small imperfections, which are almost impossible to see incredibly minor. I cannot emphasise enough how wonderful the condition of this cover is.
INNER SLEEVE. EX+. Vertigo Swirl original polylined sleeve. The inner is fully intact and in lovely condition.
Overall this is a totally stunning copy of this rare LP.

All records are been placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s
