These 78's have been cleaned on our Pro-Ject VC-S cleaning machine and played through once on each side on a record player with a sapphire tip stylus

 

Set of 3 original UK 12" Shellac 78rpm. Used paper sleeves (as pictured). Cat numbers Decca AK1705-AK1707

Brahms : Sonata No.1 in G Major for violin and piano Op.78 "Rain". Performed by Georg Kulenkampff (Violin) and Georg Solti (Piano).

The cat. number suggests these were issued c.1948, which is backed up by the tax code (LT) on the labels which indicates an issue date of between 13th Nov 1947 and 8th April 1948.

A nice clean shiny set, with a couple of short light needle marks on each playing surface, and a small chip on the outer rim on record 2/AK1706 (side 2) which has absolutely no affect on playback. All play with minimal normal shellac surface noise (see pictures).

This set is supplied in an outer box style sleeve, which is worn and has come unstuck on both sides, but keeps the set housed and protected. Could be re-taped or glued perhaps? (see pictures)
