AWW MAN! It's actually PAINFUL for me to list this: It's ONLY one of the most sought-after hot jazz records of them all, the 1926 LILL'S HOT SHOTS Vocalion - actually, Louis Armstrong's Hot Five. Blisteringly hot, exuberant and uninhibited performances, their first electrical recording.  "GEORGIA BO BO" and "DROP THAT SACK." Louis sings, and everybody's "boot-to-boot." 


SO WHAT'S not to like? Well, I'll tell ya: This record is broken practically in half. I don't know what's holding it together! - And it's also warped - AND it's (a little) heat damaged!  A frickin' shame, since minus the damage, there's practically no needle wear or scratches.  It would be a straight-up E copy if not for that.  


It is NOT beyond repair, if you have the skills to do it. Well worth it if you do, for you would end up with one of the hottest, most knock-'em-down, incredibly rare jazz records in captivity.  In the absence of such skills, you will have a VERY impressive wall-hanger! 


I will pack it EXTRA carefully! It'd be a crying shame if it suffered even MORE damage! 


This original 1926 "Race" Vocalion 1037 is in the sorry state detailed above.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
