Description

This is one of about 120 long play albums I have listed for auction. I combine multiple wins to save on postage, so please check out my other listings.

I have sold records through the mail for over 20 years, and try to be a strict and accurate grader (please see my grading standards below). I have no desire to misrepresent anything, but like all sellers, I am capable of making mistakes - my eyes and/or my judgement may fail me. If you are not satisfied with your purchase please contact me and I will do my best to make it right.

GEORGE BARNES, Guitars by George. Decca DL8658. mono lp. Black/rainbow label.

COVER: nice condition but has a cutout hole as well as ring wear that is somewhat noticeable on the dark colored cover. weak vg+

RECORD: nice and shiny and looks to be in excellent condition. It looks almost like new, but spindle tracks indicate several plays and I can detect a couple of faint scuffs. It looks nice vg+, but I have spot played it and there are some very light distractions here and there. I would say it spot plays vg+ and that it should satisfy most listeners.

NOTES ON GRADING: As mentioned above, I do my best to describe and grade these records as accurately as possible. If I mention a "scuff" in the descriprion, that means a mark that can be seen, but not felt and that should not affect play. A "scratch" on the other hand, denotes a mark that can be felt and will likely sound during playback. I do not spot play these unless it is mentioned in the description. If it is spot played, usually it is a quick sample to see if it conforms to the visual impressions.

GRADING STANDARDS: Unless mentioned above these records have not been spot played.

m- = like new
vg++ = almost m-. but looks like it has been played a few times
nice vg+ = more use, but still very high quality
vg+ = inspection shows it to be obviously used, but was well-treated and should satisfy most listeners. May have some scuffs that can be seen, but should have no scratches one can feel unless mentioned in the description.
weak vg+ = usually, an overall vg+ that has a scratch on a track or two. Sometimes, a few too many scuffs to qualify as a vg+
nice vg = obvious signs of some abuse, but should play pretty well, although there will be distractions
vg = more obvious abuse, but should be decent, if flawed, listening
weak vg, vg-. g+, g = increasingly worn and apt to be quite noisy. Hopefully these will play better than they look, but I cannot guarantee this. Please do not expect too much from records with these grades. They are offered basically as filler.
