Condizioni : copertina che mostra nella parte alta del retro, vicino all'angolo sinistro, l'impronta brunastra lasciata dalla rimozione di un'etichetta adesiva, perfetta per il resto; grande stato, NEAR MINT / il vinile presenta alcune leggere opacizzature su entrambi i lati e qualche segnetto. L'ascolto rivela qualche modesto clicchettio; bello stato, VG++

Condition : cover shows in the upper part near the left corner on the back a brownish sign left by the removal of a sticker, perfect for the rest, NEAR MINT / vinyl has some slight milky haze on both sides and a few scuffs. The listening reveals some moderate clicks, VG++

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : la biografia di uno dei più grandi pugili di tutti i tempi è musicata con grande naturalezza senza fastidiosi e demagogici trionfalismi sonori. George Bassman con la sua orchestra dà vita a temi dalla struttura moderna anche se pur sempre di derivazione sinfonica. E' molto piacevole ascoltare questo disco che include ariose melodie con un pizzico di spensieratezza e temi meditativi e crudi. Il tutto con grande leggerezza ed eleganza. Da segnalare che "I'll be around" (b4) è una composizione di Alec Wilder eseguita da Bassman e orchestra. 

Notes : the biography of one of the greatest boxers of all time is set to music with great naturalness and without any annoying and demagogic sound triumphalism. George Bassman with his orchestra creates themes from modern structure although still from symphonic derivation. It's very pleasant to listen to this album including airy melodies with a bit of carefreeness and meditative and rough themes. Everything with great lightness and grace. It is worth noting that "I'll be around" (b4) is a composition of Alec Wilder even if performed by Bassman & his orchestra.

Un bel film su un grande personaggio che oltrepassa sotto il profilo umano anche la sua boxe. Produzione Americana, regia di Robert Gordon, con Coley Wallace, Hilda Simms e Paul Stewart.
