Description
Fantastic copy of George Harrison's gorgeous box set album All Things Must Pass.
Not only is it a final upgrade copy, and complete (with poster and inner sleeves), it's also the earliest possible UK version released. It's very hard to find ones like this - most are later variants.
That's because the box and discs underwent several design tweaks after coming out. But this copy has the first discs in the first box. You might spend years looking for another like this...
The discs have no Mecolico credits (soon added) and 'Recorded in England' on labels 1 - 4 (soon vanished), as they originally mimicked the US release a few weeks earlier. And the first boxes had a small 'USA' logo on the inside bottom right lid (quickly disappeared) with no address for Apple HQ in New York beneath the main credits (soon added).
In all there are about 7 or 8 different, subtle variants across the box and labels. But this has all the legit first issue variations. Most are slightly later variants, or different combinations of early and later variants.
The box is very good for its age, sturdy and strong. The spine is clear and readable and the main picture crisp and clear. It does have some light wear to the spine (as this is where the pressure is when opening) but, crucially, the hinge remains working - many have broken over the years.
The discs and labels are excellent... just a few - if any - light hairlines to the thick and glossy vinyl. The labels have very little signs of play. 1-U matrix across the LPs. The album plays fine.
The poster is excellent.
The three coloured inner sleeves are very good. These were fragile at the time so a little light creasing, especially to the top, is expected. There is one very small split to the bottom of one (purple) but this is very minor and overall they all hold up very well.
In all, this is a really lovely copy of a lavish album. And, actually, very rare compared to most issues out there. If you want a legit, earliest first pressing... this is it.
The discs will be sent in separate inners.
Thanks for looking. Postage prices are UK based.
