George Harrison - All Things Must Pass

(Apple STCH 639 UK 3 LP Box Set 1970)

 

This is an original UK 3 LP Box Set first pressing in very nice condition! It comes complete with ts original lyric/ information inner sleeves. It also comes complete with its original giant fold-out Poster. It has the earliest matrix numbers & mother stampers. It also has the earliest label credits.

The inner sleeves & poster are manufactured in the USA. The Box has no country of manufacture stated on it. All three records are manufactured in the UK. This was the case with most UK first pressings of this album. Certainly all UK original pressings came with U.S. printed inner sleeves. Many came with a U.S. pressed box & poster too.

The box is hinged at the spine. All three records come with their original lyric inner sleeve. These are printed on textured paper. As stated, they are printed in the U.S. The poster is also printed in the USA.

The records are pressed on thick vinyl & are all pressed in the UK. They have 1st press matrix numbers. LP 1 & LP 2 only have the "Harrisongs" credit for all of George's compositions. They do not have the "Mecolico/ Essex Int." credit on them.  This indicates the very earliest UK pressing. It is also unusual that the "Harrisongs" credit is not followed by "Essex Int." This is the case with most very early UK pressings.

LP 3: Side 5's label has the "Harrisongs Essex Int." credit, except for one track which does have the "Mecolico" credit too. Side 6's label has the "Harrisongs Essex Int./ Mecolico" credit only. Again, all UK original pressings have this credit on LP 3's labels.

The matrix numbers, followed by mother stampers, are as follows:

Record 1:

Side 1: YEX 817-1U (AR 2)

Side 2: YEX 818-1U (AO 2)

Record 2:

Side 3: YEX 819-1U (T 2)

Side 4: YEX 820-1U (O 1)

Record 3: 

Side 5: YEX 821-1U (R 1)

Side 6: YEX 822-1U (R 1)

This is a genuine UK 1st pressing complete with inners & poster. It has the earliest matrix numbers & mother stampers. The labels do not have the "Mecolico/ Essex Int." credit on them on LP 1 and LP 2. They have the "Harrisongs" credit only. This indicates that this is a very first UK pressing.  

Box: There is a very small 1 cm seam split at the two top corners seams at the opening. There is some light or very mild foxing on the front panel. There is some light or very mild intermittent rubbing wear to the rear spine edge. The spine, overall, is in really nice condition. The spine text is in great condition. The hinge is in perfect working order. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the bottom edge in a few areas. Overall, a very reasonable copy. VG++ condition.

Vinyl 1: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 3 very small 0.5 cm to 1 cm marks. VG+ condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition and show mild spindle wear only. The inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is a 3 cm seam split at the centre of the bottom seam. Otherwise, there is some light or very mild ringwear. Overall, the inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall, & Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There is some mild crackle at the start of Side 1. It eases out fairly quickly.  

Vinyl 2: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are three small areas of pressing marks too. VG++ condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition and show mild spindle wear only. The inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is a tiny 1 cm seam split at the centre of one side. There is an extremely tiny seam split at the centre of the bottom seam too. Otherwise, there is some light or very mild ringwear. I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays VG+ overall, & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are a few light or mild clicks on one track on Side 3. There are a couple of clicks on two separate tracks on Side 4.  

Vinyl 3: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The paper inner sleeve has left a mild mark at the start of one side. There is a very small mark on one track. VG+ condition. The labels are in Excellent condition and show light spindle wear only. The inner sleeve is in Excellent condition. There is some light or very mild ringwear. There are no seam splits. I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.

The Poster is unused & is in Very Near Excellent condition. There is some light or mild creasing in some areas around the seams.

I will place the records in a separate plain paper inner sleeve to protect the lyric inner sleeves from any damage during transit.

    >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that these prices are as a general guideline only. For example: Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg (approximately 4-6 LPS).

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
