Description
To commemorate 40 years since its original release and 11 years since George’s untimely death (both at the end of this month), I am proud to offer for sale a pristine copy of his masterpiece “All Things Must Pass”.
This a very rare box set because of its exceptional condition. It is an original UK 1970 1st pressing on the 1st press apple labels. It is one of the earliest versions of this pressing with a textured coloured inner sleeve with the same colour on the inside of the inners as the outside (later ones are white inside). Additionally it has the 'full size' poster with ‘Printed in Great Britain STCH 639' printed in one corner, and has a lightly textured matt finish (later ones were glossy )
The cover has a leather effect textured finish to the black part of the cover (later 'Great Britain' covers don’t). The picture on the cover has come very slightly unstuck half- way down on the edge of the box on the left hand side but is barely noticeable. Most original copies sold of this LP for some reason where housed with a USA manufactured box and poster, this is a true UK manufactured box that is not easy to locate. The box inside is white not orange like the USA original pressing and clearly states made in the UK. The gatefold box is very hard to locate in top condition, this is simply superb near mint condition box.
This box set is in stunning condition and the 1970 UK 1st pressing on the 1st press apple labels, 1st press 1u matrix endings to all sides , Matrix Numbers YEX 817-1U / YEX 818-1U / YEX 819-1U / YEX 820-1U / YEX 821-1U / YEX 822-1U
The 3 records are in mint condition with one superficial mark on side A of record 1. They all play perfectly.
Over the years, I have sold this item many times, but have never seen one in this condition. It has remained untouched, unopened and unplayed in a record exec’s collection since the time of its release.
