GEORGE HARRISON
“LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD”
(Viviendo En El Mundo Material)
RARE original Apple Records very first High Fidelity STEREO press released in 1973 in Chile by Apple Records, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records, Chile), licensed from Apple Record, USA, through The Gramophone Co. Ltd., UK, catalog number (S)APPLE-2019, with hand etched matrix numbers SMAS-1-3410 1 in Side A and SMAS-2-3410 1 in Side B. It’s interesting to notice this copy has 1/1 stampers!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“Living In The Material World” was originally released in May (USA) and June (UK) 1973 and the same year we could see this record released here in Chile and like usual in the period we got it with an UNIQUE NON-GATEFOLD COVER!!! The cover is made of two single pieces of cardboard for front and back covers kept held by an outer plastic bag, which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps strictly the same US artwork, with the name of George Harrison at top and the hand. Back cover is different. If you know this album, then you could have already noticed that Chilean back cover design corresponds to the right inside cover of original US issue, but here in Chile it’s only black and white and the album title is written in Spanish only and the tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with all the other text and credits written in Spanish only. In labels the album title is written in Spanish only and tracklist is written in English only, with full credits for songwriters, production and additional information about licenses. This copy it’s the very first Chilean press, as you can confirm with the 1/1 stampers, the first run, easy to identify because it has the album title, “Viviendo En El Mundo Material” with the first word misprinted in Side B, “VIV ENDO”, with “I” omitted. But it’s not the only error you can see, the song “The Day The World Gets 'Round” is misspelled in label “The Day The World GETS’ ROUND” and in back cover “… GET’S ROUND”. In later pressings the error “Viv endo” was corrected in label but the second error in label was changed to “… Get’s Round”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this RARE PRESS of this classic album by George Harrison, with UNIQUE NON-GATEFOLD COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER ARTWORK, UNIQUE ERRORS and 1/1 STAMPERS (!). A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of George Harrison and also The Beatles!!! WOW!!! And WHAT A GREAT CONDITION!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, clean and complete, with some wear in the edges more evident in corners, with only some creases, more evident in front cover. The outer plastic bag is present and in VG or VG+ condition, with evident wear, light scratches and some rips, more present in the mouth edge, but the plastic bag has protected very well the fragile cardboards and it’s also part of the cover, so it’s a very good idea to keep it. The record is in nice EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs, hairlines and some light scratches, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in EX+ or NM- condition, absolutely clean and clear, no marks, no writings at all, only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant light crackles, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, and some occasional soft clicks here and there, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to end. Overall, a nice record, with still a nice cover, a glossy record, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 46 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector!!! WOW!!! And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER ARTWORK, UNIQUE ERRORS, 1/1 STAMPERS and the fact it’s complete with the outer plastic bag!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
