RELEASED NOVEMBER 1ST 1968 "WONDERWALL MUSIC" WAS NOT ONLY THE FIRST EVER BEATLES SOLO ALBUM RELEASE BUT ALSO THE FIRST EVER ALBUM RELEASE ON THE NEWLY FORMED APPLE LABEL.

THE ALBUM WHICH WAS THE SOUNDTRACK TO THE MOVIE OF THE SAME NAME FAILED TO CHART IN THE UK MAKING IT THE FIRST "BEATLES" ALBUM NOT TO DO SO.

THE ALBUM CATALOGUE NUMBER WAS ORIGINALLY  SCHEDULED AS STAP 1 BUT THIS WAS LATER CHANGED TO AN APPLE CATALOGUE NUMBER... STAP 1 IS HOWEVER STAMPED IN THE RUN OFF GROOVE BUT IS CROSSED OUT AND REPLACED WITH SAPCOR 1.

THIS ALBUM HAS BECOME ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER OF ALL APPLE RELEASES, NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF ITS RARITY BUT BECAUSE IT CARRIED MANY "FIRSTS" AT THAT TIME.... IT WAS THE FIRST EVER U.K SOLO BEATLES ALBUM, THE FIRST EVER ALBUM RELEASE ON THE APPLE LABEL, THE FIRST ALBUM TO CARRY AN APPLE CATALOGUE NUMBER AND THE FIRST BEATLES ALBUM NOT TO ENTER THE U.K CHARTS.

ALL ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS ALBUM CARRY THE SCRATCHED OUT  STAP 1 MATRIX AND HAVE A BLACK INNER.

THE DARK GREEN APPLE LABELS ARE IN STUNNING CONDITION TO BOTH SIDES, WHEN VIEWED UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT THERE APPEARS TO BE JUST VERY LIGHT BUT MINIMAL SPIDERY SPINDLE TRAILS VISIBLE TO EITHER SIDE. THE LABELS ARE SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND ARE FREE FROM ANY FADING, RUBBING OR AGE MARKS. ALL WORDING IS CRISP AND VERY VIVID.... THESE LABELS DO LOOK STUNNING!!!

THE GLOSSY MIRROR LIKE VINYL IS SUPERB, AGAIN WHEN VIEWED UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT THE VINYL ONLY DISPLAYS WISPY PAPER RETRACTION TRACES. JUST ONE TEENY SHORT HAIRLINE ON SIDE 2 TRACK 2.  IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS HAS ONLY HAD A LIMITED NUMBER OF PLAYS. THE VINYL LIES PERFECTLY FLAT WITH NO WARPING E.T.C...... VISUALLY THIS LOOKS TRULY STUNNING!!

Vinyl: EX.  Both surfaces have a just over the counter sheen. This album has barely been played and looks sensational with just one small 2cm hairline on side 2 track 2 which does not sound, bar one singular pop. NO  marks, just beautiful unadulterated excellent condition vinyl. Only those wispy paper retraction traces when viewed under a strong light which even a brand new record has. The LP plays to an extremely high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong EX for audio  - great copy!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.

Sleeve: VG++.  A splendid front and back laminated example with just some small creases on the opening and corner from handling. All edges are unworn. Beautiful deep colours. The spine is 100% legible. On the top opening a small repaired seam split (2cm) nearly invisible. Light storage wear on the edges. A great example that will only appreciate in value in the future. Please have a look at all pictures to inform your bid. Of course  NO tears and NO writing or smudging. The original black inner die cut sleeve is still present with short seam splits near the top and side. I will send the vinyl in a generic white sleeve along with this original inner.
