This is a VERY RARE ORIGINAL UK JAZZ / LATIN / CUBAN / TROPICAL / EXOTICA / CHA CHA CHA album by GEORGE HERNANDEZ / THE ORQUESTA TROPICANA - PLAYTIME IN HAVANA from 1961, ORIGINAL UK PRESSING IN AMAZING CONDITION !!!
From what I could find out, this is the FIRST TIME this UK ISSUE has ever come up for sale, it is on the RARE AND DESIRABLE LABEL "STARLITE RECORDS", singles and EP'S on STARLITE RECORDS are very rare and very hard to come by, but the albums are near impossible to find as they were pressed in very small quantities, and hardly any have ever come for sale in recent years !!!
STARLITE RECORDS was also known to have been the blueprint to ISLAND RECORDS !!! and although it onlt operated for a short time and with no real success, it is now very collectable and is considered to have been a record label ahed of it's time !!!
The US issue on DOT RECORDS of this album is very hard to find and is in high demand, but NO COPIES OF THIS UK ISSUE ON THE STARLITE LABEL have ever been up for sale !!!
The condition of this LP is also amazing after 53 years !!!
The vinyl is in VG++/VG+++ (near EX, only a few minor marks, nothing deep), THE LABELS are perfect in EX/EX+ condition and the PICTURE SLEEVE is in VG++++/EX condition (original shop sticker still on the back) !!!
The album came out on the HIGHLY COLLECTABLE - STARLITE RECORDS, catalogue number ST. LP 4.
