Offering this time another original early 1960s LP album of
G E O R G E J O N E S "The Crown Prince Of Country Music"
STARDAY SLP 125
(US, 1961)
This is the rather rarely seen first pressing of this well-known STARDAY album; the second press in green sleeve is much more common. This fact only justifies the minimum price. I've paid much more for it when I got it over 15 years ago. For song titles please zoom into picture # 1.
The vinyl is shiny, but there are tracks of use, track B 3 ("I've Got Five Dollars") has a bad one, NO skips though, clear loud sound all the way through, light background crackling which does not matter as the sound is really loud. A heavier needle is recommended, no idea how this would sound on a modern, sensitive record player - probably not right. The cover has not been treated kindly by its previous owner - various signs of use - please zoom into picture - colours are OK but with greying, ring wear and hand-written marks next to song titles, top split sello-taped, bottom also half-way split. Still great to listen to, loud and clear, but obviously not nice for display. "Acceptable" well used copy of a rare album.
This LP ships from continental Europe, tracked/recorded delivery is recommended, and I'll be glad to combine shipping no matter whether you'd like to combine an LP and a 78 rpm, or a 45 rpm and a book or whatever... so please have a look into my lists every now and then. The trackable package to the UK, Ireland and continental European countries will be £ 5.50 for one LP (except inside Germany where it is € 4 only for one LP as item ships from there). 78 rpm records will be packed much more safely between styrofoam and in a special oversized box at £ 8.30
