Though critically ignored somewhat on its release, 'Older' has come to be seen as a major artistic statement from Michael. Delivering on the promise of its title, the album combines the carefree spark of Michael's early solo work with a deeper tone, a maturing perspective seen in the outstanding single 'Jesus To A Child' and 'Older.' Of course, the upbeat danceable tracks remain in the form of pop gems like 'FastLove,' or the soulful 'Star People,' but here Michael is clearly flexing his muscle as a writer and performer.
Though the has sold in excess of 12 million worldwide, relatively few of these have been on vinyl! Released during the hey day of the compact disc, OLDER was overlooked to a degree on the vinyl pressing. It's mindboggling to think of the ratio to which CDs outsold LPs, but of course there really is only one way to hear this fantastic music, and it ain't from a plastic tray! This Vinyl pressing is THE way to hear Older, and here's your chance to pick a copy up! As with all my listings this will start LOW and it will have NO RESERVE. GOOD LUCK!
CONDITION OF VINYL: EXCELLENT + For the most part, the vinyl is AS NEW. The playing surfaces are AMAZINGLY shiny and sleek, with no needlwear or any real sign this has been played. There is a very, very light paper scuff at the end of side B which DOES NOT SOUND and is barely visible! The label on SIDE 2 has a minor printing error at the rim of the label, which isn't really noticeable. You may have noticed I like to be more thorough than most sellers: I don't list that much and so take a little more time on each item...This is a LOVELY copy of this MEGA RARE collectable..
CONDITION OF SLEEVE/INNER: EXCELLENT. The sleeve is in great condition, with the front and rear sleeves being beautiful. There are a few very minor spots of wear on the spine and at the top right hand edge (above the title sticker... you may or may not be able to make it out on the photograph), but these are miniscule and really on the edges. The spine itself is completely stiff and legible. The inner is in LOVELY condition, with no dog-ears and no creases. There are no marks on the inner, and only one or two minor minor dints on the lip... these are about 1/2 a millimeter in length (yes, that small.) All in all this is a FANTASTIC copy of this RARE record!!
You may also notice this copy was a PROMO copy, as evidenced on the 'PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE' sticker covering the barcode on the rear.
I am an avid collector of many, many genres and keep my records in IMMACULATE condition. I grade according to the Record Collector Price Guide 'Ready Reckoner' and almost NEVER sell anything which is below EXCELLENT condition. Rest assured that my EXCELLENT is bloody EXCELLENT! Oh yeah and I NEVER GRADE ANYTHING MINT THAT IS NOT SEALED!! Near Mint is the highest grading I use for unsealed records.
All records will be sent within two days MAXIMUM of receipt of payment (usually within 4/5 hours of payment received). Your record will be expertly packed in a professional brown mailer, using one or two stiffeners and housed in a PVC 12" sleeve with the record in a paper inner placed outside the sleeve as is standard practice. I've always been lucky when buying records from ebay (save the odd occasion) and would like all buyers of my records to be 100% SATISFIED!
