GEORGES ARVANITAS QUINTET, SOUL JAZZ VINYL LP, Columbia records, ORIGINAL 1960 FRENCH PRESSING, very rare, holy grail hard bop album, the quintet cover some great standards, This here, Bemsha swing, Oblivion, Sonny moon for two, Mister X, Poco loco, Bohemia after dark, Monks mood, Bouncin’ with Bud.
Sublime musicianship from François Jeanneau Tenor saxophone, Bernard Vitet Bugle, Michel Gaudry Bass, Daniel Humair Drums and Georges ARVANITAS Piano, a great classic album and extremely rare.

Vinyl: Play-graded EX
Play tested on a Linn Sondec turntable, plays through with excellent sound quality, no jumps, skips or sticking, the vinyl has no scratches, there are two tiny marks on the track Poco Loco, see photo number 5, these do cause three very light clicks, in fact if you weren’t particularly looking out for them, you probably wouldn’t even notice them, nice clean copy, a couple of extremely light non-audible hairlines from inner sleeve, plays great from start to finish, very nice audio quality, no noise, lovely clean copy.
Sleeve/cover: VG+ no split seams, good legible spine, some creasing to top left-hand corner and bottom right hand corner, 1cm tare to opening edge on reverse side, see photos
