VIA "Iveria" (Georgian ??? ??????) - vocal and instrumental ensemble from Tbilisi, formed in 1968 and has acquired wide popularity in the Soviet Union in the mid-1970s. Its artistic director of the composer Alexander Basilaia. The repertoire of the ensemble of contemporary songs Georgian and foreign composers side by side with workshops treatments Georgian folk songs, staged musicals, including "Wedding jays" (1979) and "The Argonauts" (1982), for which in the mid-1980s were filmed musicals (see the "Filmography"). Whole ensemble was released six LPs and several EPs in the firm "Melody".
In 1977, the band won first prize at the National competition of the Soviet song [citation needed 956 days].
