Notes: Wonderful picture label. Georgie had a Ring Starr with glasses look. Garage band sound with very strong English invasion influences. Had recorded as Georgie Porgie and the Cry Babies. No mention of his backing band on this one. Both tunes were self-penned.
I have some knowledge of this young fella in that I went to the high school during the time he there and was expelled from for refusing to cut his hair. The Beatles had invaded the US and Mr. Leonard thought that his onstage persona would be enhanced by having long locks. Joe Joyce, a strict principal at Attleboro High in Attleboro, Massachusetts didn't seem to agree and George was ordered to get a haircut. When he refused to do so, he was expelled from school and told not come back until he was shorn. George's parents supported their son (they were "hippies" as I recall) and so this became some sort of circus while this freedom of expression issue was all sorted out. The rest is history and this has got to be a rare find indeed.
