PRESENTING THE GERRY MULLIGAN SEXTET - EmArcy Japanese Pressing EXPR- 1003 (of legendary EmArcy MG36056) - VERY BEST! - Factory Sealed

They became legend, word of their play traveling the jazz circuit like wild fire.

A sextet, incomparable, of Mulligan on baritone sax, Zoot Sims on tenor, along with Bob Brookmeyer and Jon Eardley on the other horns, with Dave Bailey on drums and Peck Morrison on bass.

They not only played...they compelled.

(And during a time in jazz that can only be called "introspective.")

That said, they played together and recorded only three times, this, their first and absolute best, offering up MUD BUG, SWEET AND LONELY, APPLE CORE, NIGHTS AT THE TURNTABLE, BROADWAY, EVERYTHING HAPPENS TO ME, THE LADY IS A TRAMP (fabulous!), and BERNIE'S TUNE.

All re-mastered by London and pressed on virgin vinyl, in Japan, at Nippon Phonogram.

And yep, you bet...factory sealed.

A prize in jazz, of the very first order.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
