Description
This is one of the most desirable Living Stereo recordings of all time. Originally recorded in the UK in1960. Collectors have bid well over 1,000 USD for the original when found...and these recordings sound even better than the original LP.
The present set is an early Classic Recordings reissue on four one-sided 45 rpm LP's. The 45 rpm reissues were the first of the Classic Recordings reissue of this recording. They are of the highest quality 180-220 gr virgin vinyl, pressed from the original masters for the first time ever, and created in very limited quantities. This is a real demonstration quality recording... you will not be disappointed with either the sound quality or the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) Orchestra performance, under the remarkable direction of (Sir) Alexander Gibson. You will know from the outset that this is one of those very special performances...pure delight when it happens and a blessing when you experience it.
