Description

While touring Europe with Lionel Hampton's band in 1953, trumpeter Clifford Brown and saxman Gigi Gryce taped these tracks with a group of French players plus American guitarist Jimmy Gourlay who was living in Paris at the time. Four of the five tunes were composed by Gryce;the other is a trumpet solo improvisation on an original chord progression by Clifford Brown. This Vogue 10"LP (LDE048) was released the following year,1954, and, sadly, Clifford Brown was killed in a car crash only two years after that.

Condition: The sleeve is completely intact,but,unsurprisingly, is 'browned' with age on the back - VG; the disc has some light marks, but plays OK - just the odd crackle here and there.VG.
