After the break-up of the first Gila line-up -- available are the LP/CD 'Gila' (1971) and a live LP/CD, recorded in 1972 - and Conny Veit’s move from Stuttgart to Munich, the latter founded a new band, retaining the old name. Instead of their former lenghty improvisations, their tracks were now tightly arranged. Their only album, 'Bury my heart at Wounded Knee', which was inspired by Dee Brown’s book of the same title and deals with the expulsion and extermination of native North Americans, features three American Indian lyrics (translated into English) and received good reviews without exception. The LP was released in 1973 on WEA/Warner Bros., while in 1995 a really bad bootleg CD was released by Germanofon, and in 2012 a bootleg LP on blue vinyl. On all these records the tracks are mistakenly in the wrong order. This has been corrected now. The vinyl re-issue is limited and numbered and comes with a four-page insert in LP size.
Nach dem Zerfall der ersten Gila-Besetzung - von denen gibt es die LP/CD 'Gila' (1971) und eine 1972 aufgenommene Live-LP/CD - und Conny Veits Umzug von Stuttgart nach München schuf der eine neue Gruppe und verwendete dafür den alten Namen weiter. Statt langer Improvisationen wie ehedem gab es nun festgefügte Stücke. Ihr einziges Werk, 'Bury my heart at Wounded Knee', wurde durch das gleichnamige Buch von Dee Brown angeregt, befaßt sich mit der Vertreibung und Vernichtung der nordamerikanischen Ureinwohner, enthält auch drei indianische Texte (in englischer Übersetzung) und bekam durchweg gute Besprechungen. Die LP erschien 1973 auf WEA/Warner Bros., eine üble Bootleg-CD 1995 auf Germanofon und 2012 eine Bootleg-LP auf blauem Vinyl. Bei allen ist auf der Platte irrtümlich die Reihenfolge der Stücke vertauscht. Dieser Fehler wurde nun berichtigt. Die Neuausgabe ist limitiert und durchgehend numeriert und hat ein vierseitiges Beiblatt im LP-Format.
