MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original London “ffrr” Records very first Stereo press released by London Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1973 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from M.A.M. Ltd., UK, through London Records, U.S.A., catalog number DLM 17274, with hand etched matrix numbers ZXDR-53005 3 AAR in Side A and ZXDR-53006 3 in Side B, with traditional white/red/black London Records labels of the period and solid center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Get Down” was originally released in March 1973 in UK and in June 1973 in USA and we didn’t have to wait much because the same year, 1973, we could see this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for O’Sullivan as songwriter, for Gordon Mills as producer and for Laurie Holloway as music director of “Get Down”, with additional information about licenses, play time of each song and original price, “E° 100”, printed in both sides, even though this copy is repriced “E° 240” with a stamp over the original price. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this single by Gilbert O’Sullivan, with Spanish-written song titles and repriced, a record almost never seen and maybe now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Gilbert O’Sullivan and Pop/Soft Rock of early ‘70’s. WOW!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many light scuffs and soft hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in nice EX+ or NM- condition both sides, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear and very faint age browning and blemishes. The sound is in strong EX- or even EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with only some soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with minimal occasional and barely audible light crackles here and there, more evident in the last seconds of each song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this single keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with Spanish-written song titles and repriced, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure it still keeps a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 45 years, which won’t disappoint anyone who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean issue!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
