Stunning debut album by Gilberto Gil who would become a Brazilian superstar and even Brazil's Minister of Culture ... Rare Brazilian original first pressing.
One year before he became one of the major forces in the initialization of the Tropicalismo movement and music, Gil here still sings in a more traditional vein, influenced by Bossa Nova and folklore (such as Baião). Gil sings his own songs, plus collaborations with major authors of the then nascent MPB: Caetano Veloso, José Carlos Capinan, Torquato Neto, Geraldo Vandré, and others.
Rare original Brazil LP. Jacket open on top and bottom, as usual in pressings from this country of this era. Cover has a tear on the right edge of the front cover (see picture), signatures on the back cover, minimal tears on the left edge and right bottom corner of the back cover = VG-
The labels have small signatures.
The condition of the record is almost excellent, there is only occasional crackling and a scuff on "A Rua" = E-

Grading and comments on sound are purely my opinion and therefore subjective. The same record/LP may sound different on another system or setup. Please contact me with any questions. All of my records are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard mailers. I will add two cardboard supports, and the record will be out of sleeve to prevent seam splits.
