Description

I've just inherited a small but very interesting (and surprising for me!) collection of records from my Uncle which I'll be listing on here over the next couple of weeks...

Artist: Giles Barnaby's Dream Band

Title: Giles Barnaby's Dream Band

Label: Argo

Catalogue #: ZDA 158 (Stereo)

Format: 12" L.P.

Year of issue: 1973

Country of issue: United Kingdom

Track listing: Side A - 1. The Hare's Maggot. 2. Rufty Tufty/Beau Strataagem. 3. The Hole In The Wall / The Chirping Of The Nightingale.  4. Pastime With Good Company (Sung by The Duids). 5. Daphne / Nonsuch / Jack's Maggot / Childgrove. 6. Shrewsbury Lasses. 7. Newcastle Brown. 8. Helston Furry Dance / Picking Of Sticks / The Butterfly (Sung by Trvor Crozier). Side B - 1. The Indian Queen. 2. The Happy Clown. 3. Ratcliffe Highway (Sung by The Druids). 4. The Twenty Ninth Of May. 5. The Black Nag / Poor Robin's Maggot / Greensleeves. 6. Portabella. 7. The Draper's Maggot / Tower Hill. 8. Mr. Beveridge's Maggot / The British Toper / London's Glory.

Condition (vinyl): EX- (beautiful 'fresh from the factory' lustre with only a couple of extremely faint hairline marks. There is a tiny scratch on the end of track one, side A, which causes a light 'pop' for four rotations, otherwise plays superb throughout)

Condition (labels): EX (no writing, scuffs, tears, etc. Both sides have areas of darkening around the Argo logo which looks like stickers have been removed, but in all honesty is hardly noticable).

Condition (sleeve): EX (front laminated sleeve is in superb condition - no writing, rips, tears, heavy creases, etc, just extremely light signs of general handling wear. Original polylined inner is EX-).

Additional comments: ORIGINAL U.K. 1st pressing. I won't pretend I know anything about this genre of music, as I said before these records have been inherited from my Uncle, so all addition comments are from bits of information I've managed to find online.
