JACKY GIORDANO and YAN TREGGER – Schifters ORIG Freesound LP / FS 4/74 (France, Stereo, 1974)
Happy to present a superb, totally unblemished copy of this super-rare and much sought after French library release in its original Freesound issue. This contains some incredibly tight psych funk with plenty of fat rhythms, brooding bass and groovy beats and I can bring you faultless audio on this brilliant copy.
The single format, front laminated sleeve is also in fantastic shape. Featuring the ‘Easy Rider’ collage on the front, these are the only flaws away from a mint grade: slight ring impression to the top and bottom of both the front and rear; slight ruffling of the opening edges; very faint rubbing to the back panel and a bit of toning here too. That’s it for imperfections to the sleeve. There are NO splits, tears or writing. There’s no edge wear and the corners remain more or less fully defined. Spine is tremendous – no chips, nicks or compression. There’s an industry sticker to the rear (see photo) but this is neat and unobtrusive. Overall a really well preserved sleeve which I think merits a genuine EX (Excellent) grade.
The labels show NO spindle trails AT ALL! I believe this cannot have been played more than 2 or 3 times. There are 2 neatly applied industry stickers to either side (see photos), but no writing, dirt, rips or residue on the great labels!
The weighty vinyl grades a true and genuine M- (Mint Minus). I do not give full mint grades unless I know the record is new and unplayed, but this copy is totally fresh with NO marks whatsoever. NO scratches, scuffs, hairlines, nicks, chips or embedded dirt. NO nothing! Just a gleaming disc which looks as good as it did the day it left the pressing plant. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO AND PLAYS ABSOLUTLEY PERFECTLY WITHOUT FAULT! Sorry for thte capital letters but how else can you emphasise that this really is perfect audio playback? NO snap or crackle, no ticks or clicks, no hiss or pops, and no distortion or loss of definition. I noticed nothing untoward, just fresh, crisp and clear sound which is further enhanced by the very tight production.
Supplied in its original semi-circular plastic inner, I will also include a new paper inner.
This one could burn a few dancefloors. Tight, spacey and funky as they come, don’t miss this rare opportunity! No reserve.
