ORIGINAL ITALIAN 1st PRESS, RCA (SP 10020) Deep Groove STEREO. Exquisite modal jazz session by Giovanni Tommaso (double bass) together with Lee Konitz (alto and flute), featuring the talented trumpet player Enrico Rava, Franco D'Andrea at the piano and Gegè Munari (drummer also for certain Piero Umiliani recordings). The whole record is brilliant, Lee Konitz plays at his very best, especially with Varitone. Includes the amazing modal themes GIOVANI D’OGGI, the splendid deep/spritual jazz feel track FIVE FOUR AND THREE, TAKE SEVEN (complete with unusual flute solo by Lee Konitz), TERRE LONTANE and KOMONIA (an early composition written for a previous library on Leonardi and featuring top bass solo by Giovanni Tommaso). Superb record, listen!
