This is Girl Guided Missiles with their rare, privately-pressed 45 on the SEANDEE label from 1979. The tracks are Fully Qualified Robot / Desperate Men.

This record doesn’t turn up for sale very often and is scarce and hard to find, to say the least. As far as I can ascertain, there hasn't been one sold on ebay since 2012. There were two sold in 2011, one in 2010, two in 2009...and that's it: six copies sold in five years (possibly better than original sales figures).

Not only is it rare, this one is, in my opinion, one of the best copies to have turned up for sale on the open market in years. Apparently, the band hailed from Shropshire and sold the record locally and at gigs etc. in about '79. One of the band was also in the band The Cravats

I have taken a lot of photos, so have a good look.

The vinyl is very clean; it retains a nice sheen all over. There are only a few very light and very small surface marks visible here and there, and you have to look hard. It plays well, and has obviously been well looked after down the years.

The labels are very clean, with only slight spindle-wear visible - no writing, no stains, no stickers, no surface lift, no rips, no nothing

The sleeve has only ringwear and light creasing to show for its 35 years. There are no seam splits at all, no rips, no stains, no writing, no stickers, no sticker residue etc. It’s fully intact and doesn’t even have ‘feathering at the open edge (see photos). And it looks better in ‘real life’ than in the photos.

This item with packing weighs over 140 g.
