THE GLADIOLAS WERE LATER KNOWN AS MAURICE WILLIAMS & THE ZODIACS. THEY PLAYED THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS AND WERE A CAROLINA BEACH MUSIC FAVORITE.
LEADER AND SONG WRITER, MAURICE WILLIAMS, HAS THE DISTINCTION OF HAVING TWO OF HIS BEST SONGS COVERED BY WHITE GROUPS THAT BECAME CLASSIC NATIONAL HITS...."LITTLE DARLIN'" COVERED BY THE CANADIAN GROUP, THE DIAMONDS AND "STAY" COVERED BY FRANKIE VALLI & FOUR SEASONS.
NONETHELESS, "SHOOP SHOOP" IS AN EXCELLENT SOUTHERN BOPPER, AND THE FLIP A FINE BALLAD. A TRUE TWIN SPIN.

This record is absolutely original, not a bootleg, repro or reissue.
STANDARD 45 RPM GRADING:
M- Mint Minus (Near Mint) Highest grade used. Has full or nearly full luster. Little or no sign of play, handling or storage marks. Highly desirable condition.
VG++ Very Good Plus Plus (Excellent). Most luster remains. Some indications of careful play. Very mild groove wear, perhaps a few very light scuffs or scratches, not felt by touch. Very desirable condition.
VG+ Very Good Plus. Still some decent luster. Shows moderate groove wear. May have minor scuffs and/or scratches. Still a very nice "above average" used record, acceptable to most collectors.
VG Very Good. Obvious groove wear with mostly, or fully grey grooves. Scuffs and/or scratches of an "average" used record are more likely. Some luster may remain. Often plays better than it looks.
VG- Very Good Minus. Record shows heavy use, deeper grey, more scuffs and scratches. Plays with more surface noise but should play through.
G Good. A beat record that could easily skip, looks bad and is noisy.
