Year of release is 1966. This is listing for a sensational Northern Soul record in essentially new condition. I don't believe that it was ever played before I received it. Just check out the sound bytes (recorded from the actual record itself), including the flip! Only The One You Love is spectacular! The quiet at the beginning of each side is from the trail-in being played. It, too, is virtually dead silent (well, comatose, anyway)! I only played this record in order to just be able to record it and do the clips. The record plays virtually perfect! All that you will hear is the quietest click on the Little Bitty Girl side as the music is fading into the deadwax during the very final second or two. Very slight noise can be heard on the flip when the music tapers down to a whisper at the end. This noise is typical of that found in the deadwax of many 45's, especially 60's Decca promos. Decca's vinyl quality for 45's is actually not that great, and the promos may even be inferior to the stock copies from what I have observed. This is one of the best sounding mid-60's Decca promos that I have ever heard. I am not sure that this one was ever released commercially although John Manship lists the stock copy at 50 pounds more than the promo. This might be one of the best sounding copies of this record on the planet! The record both visually and play grades in near mint plus condition. The record is visually graded under a powerful lamp. Both labels are clean (See images below) and like new. The record comes with the original mid-60's Decca sleeve which is in near mint condition. To protect the sleeve, the record will be contained in a thick buff generic sleeve during shipping, separate from the company sleeve. The record is made of vinyl and not styrene.
