Description

Here is a pair of quite lively vocals from GLORIA GEER (a.k.a. VAUGHN DE LEATH), in 1925: "GO EMMALINE" and "THAT'S GEORGIA." Both of these tunes lend themselves to Jazz treatment, and Miss De Leath falls right into that spirit.  The secret weapon here is her anonymous pianist, a two-fisted, rock-solid exponent of the keyboard, who keeps eveything on the "Qui Vivre."

The label, "LYRATONE" is quite rare - it's the first and only one I've ever seen.  Founded in Newark, New Jersey, the label was sold exclusively at Abraham & Strauss stores in New York, from 1921 till 1925.  This Vaughn De Leath record must be a very late example.

Original 1925 Lyratone 11419 is in clean E- condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
