When Goat first appeared in 2012 behind masks and myth, their debut World Music landed like a controlled explosion. There was nothing else like it then, and there still isn't now. The album pulls from Afrobeat, psych, post-punk, ritual folk and raw fuzz and moves with hypnotic undercurrents and sudden bursts of chaos that flit between ancient and futuristic. Rightly acclaimed on release, it quickly became a touchstone for psych heads and crate diggers. The relentless stomp of 'Disco Fever', the snarling rush of 'Goathead' and the chant-along pulse of 'Run To Your Mama' are some of the standouts, but World Music radiates fearless confidence from front to back.
