Paese, anno d’edizione : ITALIA - 1979 - prima stampa originale facilmente riconoscibile nel retrocopertina dove nel bordo inferiore vicino all'angolo destro si trova il logo della casa discografica della ristampa: AMF accompagnata dal numero di catalogo AMSLP 37. Inoltre nella parte centrale dello stesso bordo è assente il logo rosso a lunetta della Cinevox con sotto il numero di catalogo dell'album, si osservi, per cortesia,  la scansione n° 2.  /  First original issue, easily recognizable in the back cover where on the bottom edge near the right corner there is the logo of the reissue's record company, AMF, accompanied by the catalog number AMSLP 37.Additionally in the middle part of the same edge is absent the Cinevox red logo in shape of lunette with below the catalog number of the album, please, look to scan No. 2.

Condizioni : copertina con difetti minimi: giusto una lieve grinzetta nella parte centrale del lato frontale non distante dal bordo laterale sinistro; grande stato, NEAR MINT / il vinile presenta pochi segnetti leggeri ma l'ascolto rivela un pò di rumore di fondo e alcuni modesti clicchettii; bello stato, EX

Condition : cover with minimal flaws, just a slight crease in the central part of the front side not far from the left lateral edge, NEAR MINT / vinyl has a few light scuffs but listening reveals a bit of background noise and some slight clicks, EX

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : è bene precisare che la colonna sonora di questo film Australiano venne composta da Brian May, bravo musicista nato ad Adelaide ed autore tra l'altro delle partiture per Interceptor (Mad Max) e Interceptor - Il Guerriero della Strada (Mad Max 2). Su richiesta del produttore e distributore del film per l'Italia, Dino De Laurentiis, che non considerava adatte al gusto Italiano le musiche di May, i Goblin furono incaricati di cambiare la colonna sonora. Tutto questo causò un certo smarrimento creativo nei componenti del gruppo per il fatto di non aver avuto alcun contatto con il regista durante le riprese del film per un proficuo scambio di idee e per i corti tempi con cui dovevano terminare la nuova partitura. Ricorsero a due brani già in precedenza editi: "Snip Snap", firmato dunque anche da Claudio Simonetti, dall'album Roller (Cinevox MDF 33.101) e "Yell", sigla del programma televisivo della RAI "Sette Storie per Non Dormire" pubblicato solo su un 45 giri (Cinevox SC 1121). Sarebbe stato importante per i Goblin capire se la connotazione di maggior peso per il regista aveva natura psicologica horror o piuttosto requisiti da film thriller fantascientifico. In questa incertezza le tracce sembrano essere dotate di una certa "timidezza" nei ritmi. Con l'eccezione di "Snip Snap" (a5) che è certamente il brano più rock e movimentato ma come già detto sopra, tratto da un precedente album, la costruzione dei brani si basa su una continua ripetizione di ritornelli sonori generalmente da parte delle tastiere e in sottofondo su cui di volta in volta s'inseriscono la chitarra, le percussioni, gli effetti sonori ed altri strumenti. Spesso le sonorità hanno un carattere quasi impalpabile, sfuggente che ben riflette lo stato di coma del protagonista e conseguentemente le ritmiche hanno cadenze lente o moderate. Segnalo "Metamorfosi" (b1) dai particolari rumori e ronzii emessi dal sintetizzatore circondato da suoni lievi e da incomprensibili parole di una voce maschile come se proveniente dall'oltretomba e "Vibrazioni" (b3) con buon lavoro di tastiere e percussioni. Nella seconda parte un suggestivo ritornello strumentale infantile simile a quello di un carillon rimanda istintivamente a passate esperienze del gruppo e più in generale ai films di Dario Argento.

Notes : it is correct to point out that the soundtrack of this Australian film was composed by Brian May, excellent musician born in Adelaide and also author among other of the scores for Mad Max and Mad Max 2. On demand of the producer and distributor of this film for Italy, Dino De Laurentiis, who did not consider suitable to the Italian taste the music of Brian May, Goblin were appointed to change the soundtrack. All this caused some creative confusion in the group members because they didn't have any contact with the director during the shooting of the film for a fruitful exchange of ideas and for the short time in which they had to finish the new score. They resorted to two tracks previously issued: "Snip Snap", therefore, also signed by Claudio Simonetti, from the album Roller (MDF Cinevox 33.101) and "Yell", theme music of the RAI television program "Sette Storie per Non Dormire", released only on a 45 rpm (Cinevox SC 1121). It would have been important for the Goblin to understand whether the connotation of greater weight for the director had psychological horror nature or rather requirements to a sci-fi thriller movie. In this uncertainty the tracks seem to be provided with a certain "timidity" in the rhythms. Except "Snip Snap" which is certainly the more lively and rock track (a5) but as mentioned above taken from a previous album, the construction of the tracks is based on a continuous repetition of instrumental refrains usually from the keyboards and in the background on which the guitar, percussions, the sound effects and other instruments are inserted. Often the sounds have an almost impalpable and elusive character which well reflects the state of coma of the protagonist and consequently rhythms are usually slow or moderate. I mention "Metamorphosis" (b1) from the particular hums played by the synthesizer surrounded by soft sonorities and some unintelligible words of a male voice as coming from beyond the grave and "Vibrations" (b3) with good work of keyboards and percussion. In the second part an infantile instrumental refrain resembling that of a music box recalls instinctively past experiences of the group and, more generally, Dario Argento's movies.
