A rare collectors item for both record collectors and collectors of OZ MAGAZINE.
Sold to raise funds to support the three defendants in the high profile OZ OBSCENITY TRIAL at the OLD Bailey in June and July 1971.
Following publication of the controversial SCHOOL KIDS ISSUE of this British underground magazine, Oz magazine was charged with conspiring to corrupt the morals of the young. The magazine's three editors Richard Neville, Jim Anderson and Felix Dennis were tried at the Old Bailey and received sentences of between 9 and 15 months. They were later released on appeal. Judge Argyle was later reprimanded for misdirecting the jury.
I was given this by a friend many years ago along with a few copies of OZ magazine.
I have no means to play the record and have never played it. I have kept it as a fascinating and rare curio from the hippie era. It is now time for someone else to own and enjoy it. The record appears to be in really good condition as can be seen in my photos. There are however two white marks within the vinyl from when the record was originally pressed. the record grooves go through these marks, but I don't know if they can be heard when the record is played and therefore am offering no guarantee that it plays well. ****Its value and rarity is in the signatures !!!**** Please study the pics for extra detail and condition.
The record is still in its original black paper sleeve with the Apple logo printed upon it. The sleeve is in very good condition with minor creasing from storage. No scuffing and no tears.
Will be carefully packed within stiff card to prevent damage and will be sent "signed for" within the UK.
