POWER PLANT - GOLDEN DAWN - INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS IA-LP # 4 STEREO Original 1968 ACID PSYCH MINT LP!

Don't know what was in the drinking water in Texas during the mid-late 60's, but some of the most original, audacious and mind-melting psych-rock ever-created came out of the INTERNATIONAL ARTIST catalog.
The Golden Dawn was a 5 piece Psychedelic Rock Band formed in Austin, Texas in 1967. They were friends with The 13TH Floor Elevators through whom the group was able to land a recording contract with International Artists. Actually, George Kinney, who was the band's lead singer and writer, grew up together with Roky Erickson who led The 13TH Floor Elevators. George and Roky grew up together in South Austin, attended the same school, and played together an the Garage band, The Fugitives, in 1964 and 1965. This excellent LP combines some Acid-Spiked rock guitars with fine Psychedelic instrumentation & thought provoking lyrics. The LP contains 10 tracks with a duration of  about 35 minutes, and all tracks are very good to excellent! I must confess to being a long-time lover of the music of The 13TH Floor Elevators and was delighted to hear this LP, which sounds very much like The 13TH Floor Elevators, but with a unique approach + sound all their own. Remarkable stuff for all psych fans...

This is NOT a re-issue, UK, Japanese or bootleg LP - again, it's ORIGINAL. 
PLEASE READ: (It's Important!):
Later pressings from the 70's, during the petroleum crisis, were so thin and the cardboard so weak you could almost bend the records in half without breaking them. ORIGINAL pressings of the IA catalog were made to withstand nuclear attack - this LP and cover CAN NOT be bent at all - both cover + LP are thick, strong and almost unbreakable. These records weigh about 3 times what other LPS do - including all that new 180 gram stuff that's currently being made, or any of the Japanese counterparts... Also, you can spot phonies + later pressings by the way the sleeves were made - original LP'S from the 60's had the cardboard folded along the top, bottom and side - always look for folded corners to come to a triangle to be certain of it's authenticity. CLEARLY VISIBLE in my listing...
I'll be listing the entire catalog of INTERNATIONAL ARTIST ORIGINAL ALBUMS (most still-sealed, but ALL in fantastic condition, and a few w/l promos as well) over the next few weeks or months as time permits.
I worked in record stores as a teen starting in the early 1971, and have had this remarkable psych classic 1st LP for nearly 50 years, and it's appears flawless in every way. NO SEAM SPLITS, NO FADING(rear cover is blinding white), NO FUNKY, MOLDY ODORS, HOLE PUNCHES, BUMPED CORNERS, NOTHING TO DETRACT FROM ITS PSYCH GLORY. It's perfect...I was one of those freaks (still am, I'm afraid) who bought 2 copies of my favorite stuff, just in case of scratches or friends "borrowing" a prized LP and not returning it, which was rampant back then...lol.
LOOK AT THE GLOSS ON BOTH THE COVER AND THE VINYL - CAN YOU SAY "IMMACULATE"??? NO SCRATCHES, FINGERPRINTS. ETC.
(I have almost 5,000 records that have been in climate-controlled conditions all through the years, and around 175 to 200 are still sealed, mostly all 60's, mostly psych, pop and Beatles or related, so you might want to add me to your favorites, as I'll be listing several hundred over the next few months. I'm a huge collector, and it's time I downsized some of my collections)
