Description
VARIOUS ARTISTS - " GONKS GO BEAT O.S.T. ", The Decca Recording Company Ltd (LK 4673) Mono, 1965.
Very rare 1965, first UK issue of the very rare soundtrack album from the '65 science fiction film.
Featuring music from The Graham Bond Organisation, Lulu & The Luvers, Nashville Teens, Barbara Brown, Elaine & Derek, etc.
Grooved, wideband label with ARL-6687-1A / ARL-6688-1A matrix numbers.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT- (No big scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, etc. Under my bright grading lamp, the is vinyl's surface carries a few very faint surface marks and paper scuffs, all but one of them are inaudible during playback. The exception a is small scratch across the third track on side two - for a few rotations it is just audible, although definitely faint and in the background. Otherwise, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks, but when the music starts, it plays strong and clean from then on - free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, surface noise, etc.
Overall, although it is not quite mint, it's imperfections are very slight and would make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy it - those searching for a museum piece or a sterile CD sound item might find this particular copy just comes up a little short though.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G.++ (No rips, tears, heavy ringwear, etc. That said, there are a few light creases in the laminate, the corners are a bit worn, there is a tiny "588A" in black pen on the rear sleeve and it's not quite as white/clean as it once was. Overall, an honest example of an old record sleeve that has been used and shows signs of it, but not abused/trashed - see photos for further clarification
