GRACHAN MONCUR III "Some Other Stuff", RVG, Blue Note 84177 Stereo Vinyl

This is the first edition, 1965, "Van Gelder" stamped pressing of GRACHAN MONCUR III’s "Some Other Stuff" on the "Division of Liberty Records" labels of Blue Note BST 84177. Musicians include Grachan Moncur III – trombone, Wayne Shorter - tenor saxophone, Herbie Hancock – piano, Cecil McBee – bass, Tony Williams - drums.

This VINYL plays with consistent low to medium level surface noise (i.e, static, ??, relative to the volume of the music/instruments) with occasional ticks, but the instruments are very dynamic, clear and present with clear transients, powerful extension and full tone. Repeating tick/groovewear on Side 1, #2. No distortion. No skips. Both sides have good gloss. Handful of hairline marks, none feelable. See photos. The “Division of Liberty Records" labels are largely clear and clean, with minor spindle marks under direct light. See photos.

COVER is in excellent condition overall, some ringwear and minor fading/stain. Corners worn. See photos. Spine excellent condition, top 1 inch split. Top seam one-inch split at each end. This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). ALL RECORDS CLEANED ON VPI INDUSTRY STANDARD VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANING MACHINE.
