An excellent condition copy of this 1970 UK Vertigo swirl 1st press prog rock gem, with the sparingly played gleaming vinyl and faultless audio quality being real highlights

The weighty and completely flat gleaming vinyl is in excellent plus (EX+) condition and in normal daylight comes across as in perfect condition, retaining a lovely jet black sheen. With very close inspection under a bright light it is just possible to detect a couple of wispiest of wispy hairlines and the very occasional and extremely faint paper scuff on each side...each is purely superficial (not easy to locate, even under a bright light) and have no impact whatsoever on the outstanding sound quality. Clearly this has been very sparingly played.   Near perfect (EX+) labels - unmarked apart from just a few small and extremely light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on the side 2 label.   The non-laminated outer gatefold sleeve remains highly presentable and is in very good plus (VG+) condition. The edges remain firm but there is the occasional light scuff mark on the bottom edges with 1.5cm of continuous scuffing on the bottom edges adjacent to the two bottom corners, a few sporadic light "nicks" on the spine though the spine itself remains firm with all spine text fully legible. Each corner remains a nicely defined right angle but there is a little rubbing on each. There is also a non-obvious light 6cm diagonal surface crease mark on the front side towards the bottom left corner and an equally light and non-obvious 2cm surface crease emanating from the same spot on the spine. The opening edges remain firm with barely any fraying, the art work, colours and text remain nicely vibrant and well defined, and the interior of the gatefold is truly excellent with barely any marks at all (just the odd tiny and very light "nick").  Near mint (NM) audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, clicks or background interference/crackle...great sound quality throughout, hard to fault in any way in fact and exactly what you would expect from a record that has been so sparingly played. Hard to believe that this record is now a 52 year antiquity!  Comes with original poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve, correctly dated and remaining fully functional - no seam splits or tears or edge fraying, just some mild age discolouration towards the edges and some mild creasing in one corner. My photos give an accurate idea of the true condition of the outer and inner sleeves through they cannot of course relay the truly wonderful condition of the vinyl and impeccable sound quality!
 An increasingly rare and sought after 1970 original UK Vertigo swirl 1st pressing, remaining highly presentable and still making for a great listen.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
