Description

VERY RARE ORIGINAL GRAHAM COLLIER SEXTET: DOWN ANOTHER ROAD 1969 AMAZING BRITISH JAZZ RECORD

This is a killer Brit Jazz record from the late 60's by pioneering Jazz man Graham Collier. Simply a classic and very hard to get hold of. Highly effective fusion; sophisticated yet fiery, free-influenced. Located a review with this piece and no wonder it was kept:

"Incredible work from one of England's greatest jazz talents! ... A razor-sharp style that forged some of the freshest jazz ever to come out of the UK. This 1969 album is a masterpiece - filled with a modal groove and a strident searching theme, yet also as tight and grooving as most of the best Blue Note sessions from the same time".
- Dusty Groove

I would particularly like to direct all those in need of discovering rare top breaks and samples to this record and especially the track Aberdeen Angus – ferocious energy absolute beaut with hot breaks and hard wonderful drum work from John Marshall.

The sleeve notes are worth a mint on their own especially the dedication and tribute to English Pubs – The track being The Barley Mow – and includes wind chimes and bamboo rods being suspended from the ceiling while being played.

CONDITION: Excellent

Cover Excellent / CAT:Fontana sfjl 922 / Johnny Clamp super cool photography for cover.

Standard definition: shows some signs of having been played with little/some lessening of sound quality. The cover may have slight wear and creasing.

Won’t go on for those in the know it is at a reasonable starting price and for those who do not good luck.
