WHAT ARE TEST PRESSINGS?
"Test Pressings" are the very 1st printing of any vinyl release, which is then listened and approved before they mass print LP's. The Artwork is also created and being finialized at the same time, so no artwork was made when they printed this - hench - no artwork,
Artists/Producers ensure the LP sound is exactly what they wanted the public to hear, and many times, the released versions were slightly different then the Initial Test Run. Also any metal master stamper flaws pressed into the vinyl pressing process, makes sure that the grooves are looked at and both sides of the grooves are straight and no walls, which creates repeat/skipping, and remade/fixed. So these are the 1st working copies, before the mass vinyl are printed.
After this "Test" run, all copies are then printed, including Promo's, in mass. These are the very best quality available, and printed off the actual master metal, not off clones (which are used and given to the public). Its almost impossible to find these nor ever come to light in public! No more then 5 are normally ever printed so they are 1000 times rarer then WLPs, with printed labels, as they are printed AFTER this step, and all LP are already printed in mass.
I have 100s of Eagles and released live shows if you need any. Write and I can post them up for you.
