The raw energy of these live performances was captured without the use of any re-mixing, over-dubs or enhanced audio engineering. This "direct recording" method leaves a bit to be desired from a technical standpoint, but showcases the band in a live environment and never lets up in its effort to convey GFR's raw power as well as a sense of "being there" at a Grand Funk event.
The album's gatefold cover depicts a photograph of the band at the Atlanta International Pop Festival during the weekend of the 4th of July 1970, but none of the music was actually recorded there. According to the liner notes on the 2002 CD reissue, the album was recorded at the Jacksonville Coliseum on June 23, 1970 with the exception of "Paranoid" and "Inside Looking Out" which were recorded at the West Palm Beach Civic Auditorium on June 24, 1970

In keeping with its barely status my play-check at loud volume found nothing to fault the heavy atmospheric sound - superb copy - plays like-new throughout
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Fine example of this notorious difficult sleeve to find in decent condition, being matt and mostly black. This one has general light wear to the edges and surfaces but it is good and solid with all spine text clear and bold
