All records are visually inspected using the classic Dayton Illuminated Magnifier.
I use a variation of the Goldmine ratings:
M (Mint)  New Factory Sealed Records Only
M- (Mint Minus)Vinyl appears new/unplayed.  Covers have the original factory shrink wrap opened.
VG+ (Very Good Plus) Vinyl has some signs of wear, including light scuffs and/or scratches. Covers may have some imperfections such as cut-outs, promo imprints, etc.
VG- (Very Good Minus) Vinyl plays with surface noise and scratches. Covers have seam splits and heavy writing. I rarely list records with this grade except for highly sought after items.

All records are professionally cleaned with a VPI Record Cleaner.
Records are shipped outside the cover in an inner sleeve.
A vinyl outer sleeve contains the cover and the record/sleeve.
A bubble wrap sleeve surrounds the whole shooting match.
Shipped in protective cardboard mailer.
