I always find it such a shame there's so many one-offs like this that leave nothing else to dig into after listening, this LP being the the biggest example for me. Grannie is insanely good, both in songwriting and musical performance. Its so deeply familiar and yet still a unique standalone work. The songs are satisfyingly complex and weave through so many distinct passages in a fantastic show of instrumental gymnastics. Where the entire band is so firmly on the same page and yet still flexible. Everyone puts in a great effort, but the guitar absolutely steals the show through all 6 tracks. This is in fact the album that inspired me to pick up learning guitar seriously again, and for good reason as it succeeds in demonstrating a brilliant variety in what the instrument is really capable of in the right hands.

Every song on this album offers a distinct experience, they're exceptionally well developed and dense in expressive verses and motifs. While I cannot do a formal track review for this one any justice, I can at least recommend Tommorow Today, Saga of the Sag Jester, and Coloured Armageddon as tracks that stood out greatly to me.

This one's gold, I feel anyone even remotely turned on by progressive rock really owes themselves a listen to it.
