Description

Up for auction is a nice copy of the Grant Green album "I Want To Hold Your Hand" released on Blue Note Records (BST 84202) in 1965.  This is an original, stereo first pressing.  Van Gelder and "Ears" stamped in the dead wax.  New York, USA labels.  Address on cover is 43 West 61st St., New York 23.  Comes with original Blue Note inner sleeve.  Cover is in really nice shape, no ring wear, seam splits, tears, or writing.  Lower right corner shows very small amount of rubbing.  Top seam has a couple of very tiny chips.  Back cover is clean, bone white, no writing.  Overall, I'd grade the cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).  The heavy vinyl disc retains much of its original gloss.  Side One, track one shows some superficial scuffs that can't be felt.  Side Two has a couple hairlines, which also can't be felt.  Some superficial signs of having been taken out of the paper inner sleeve.  I've play tested this record and it sounds very nice.  Side One opens with some surface noise, which fades away as the song progresses.  Mostly plays clean and bright.  Side Two plays pretty clean with some occasional faint surface noise, but nothing that overwhelms or distracts from the music.  No skips or repeating clicks to speak of.  Not a near mint or audiophile copy, but certainly a very nice sounding playing copy that presents very well.  I'd grade the vinyl VG+/EX (side one and two respectively).
