Signed by The Beatles' Apple Records, named by John Lennon after Yoko Ono's book of poetry, it's not all that surprising that Grapefruit bear a resemblance to The Fab Four on this album. The opening "Another Game" and the stomping single "Elevator" are pop perfection and "Dear Delilah", "Round Going Round", "This Little Man" and "Ain't It Good" are mighty fine pop as well and "Theme For Twiggy" is a moody, atmospheric instrumental. Leader George Alexander (who was born George Young and related to the Young brothers who would later show up in AC/DC, another brother was the leader of The Easybeats, who were famous for the Beatlesque hit "Friday On My Mind") definitely knows hit way around a good tune and the shimmering harmonies and touches of mellotron make for an appropriately sweet and sour vibe.
