Description
THE GRATEFUL DEAD: Anthem Of The Sun (Warner Bros. WS 1749, stereo WLP)
- Condition : Cover is VG++, minor ringwear, neat 2" top center seamsplit starting. Vinyl is NM, couple very faint scuffs away from stone perfect, looks barely played if at all. Has the Warner Bros. innersleeve as issued.
- Description : Very rare 1968 original white label promo on 'W7' labels. This album is a monster of SF psychedelia and this is the original mix which was replaced with a much more toned-down version in 1971 (all of the CD issues reverted to the original mix, however). Basically the LP was compiled and mixed by Garcia in a rather unusual manner and is unlike most any other rock LP before or since. The source tapes were a multitude of live concert recordings from 1967-68, with both an 8-track board mix and a 4-track "house sound" tape available for many of the tapes, as well as studio sessions of the same songs. The objective here was to combine multiple multitrack live and studio recordings of the same song played at the same time and "mix for the hallucinations" whilst flying on acid and / or Nitrous Oxide. The results are fantastic but you really need to have an exceptionally nice original 'W7' pressing (such as this one on offer here) and a decent stereo system to even begin to hear the thing properly. I wish they'd done a multichannel DVD-Audio or SACD mix from the multitracks before those formats went obsolete. Anyway, first spare WLP I've had in years, reserve is $100.

- GUARANTEE: Condition of this item is guraranteed to be as stated in the above description. Grading is strict and visual. All used LP's are cleaned on a Loricraft machine before grading. Sorry, I do not guarantee "musical content". If you are going to bid high on an unfamiliar album, consider first checking out the sounds online or via a reissue, etc in order to avoid potential disappointments. You cannot return a record simply because you don't like the music.
- Records are shipped in a cardboard record mailer with sufficient padding, and the disc is removed from the jacket to prevent seamsplits.

- Please do not ask me to email you with a list of every song on an LP. If you are looking for a specific song, inquire with the name of the song, I'll check ASAP to see if it's on the LP and reply promptly, but I don't have time to type out the names of every track, sorry to say.
