'Blues For Allah'

UNQUESTIONABLY ONE of their best studio albums - heralded at the time as something of a minor classic and contains just the right combination of country, rock, folk and that brilliant San Francisco latin psych sound. Unusually for the Dead, the songs are all around five minutes in length which only adds to the accessibility of the record. Rather than their long drawn out jams they've made a concious effort to stay focussed and concise. Contains a brace of all time Dead classics including 'Slipknot', 'Stronger Than Dirt', 'Crazy Fingers' and 'Sand Castles'- all taut electric twelve bar rock track with prickly guitar work plus great vocals.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: United Artists, USA, 1975

Vinyl: Super clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks on labels and no other signs of use. Grades as top MINT-!

Cover: Again, no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated sleeve - still in shrink wrap! Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight, stiff and totally uncrushed. Tiny cut corner bottom left - but the corner is still intact! Impossible to find like this after 40 years. Grades as shop fresh MINT-!
