Description
This is an ULTRA RARE Fan Club edition of live tracks from 3 different shows in '77 and '78. I've only come across this recording a few times over the years, as there were only a handful printed. Most that I see run between $60-70.
The records have some truly unique "bootleg" qualities: labels with funky song titles, copied covers, and white sleeve. Super cool for the collector. Please see below for some notes:
Printed in Canada -------------- Track listing and song titles are different on the sleeve from the labels, and different still from what is actually on the LPs. The songs listed above are what are printed on the labels (including spelling errors - EG "Tempie" listing in Header 2).
Below is what is printed on the record sleeve: -------------- Side One Recorded Live - Nassau Coliseum 5/2/80 Alabama Getaway Playing in the Band Uncle John Band [sic] Lead Garcia Lead Bob Weir
Side Two Tempie [sic] Arizonza 1977 Fade Away Reeling & Rockin (Round & Round)
Side Three Capitol Theatre By Special Invitation Only 1978 California
Side Four Capitol Lookout (Pretty Lady) No Chance? Go Down (The Deal) ------------------------------
The ACTUAL music contained on this record, by proper title, is:
Side 1: Nassau Coliseum 5/2/80 Alabama Getaway > Promised Land Playin' In The Band > Uncle John's Band // (cut)
Side 2: Tempe, AZ 1977 // ...Not Fade Away > (begins just after start of song) Around & Around
Side 3: Capitol Th., 1978 Estimated Prophet > Drums > //
Side 4: Capitol Th., 1978 Candy man Loser
Overall quality of recordings is decent and likely comes from low generation master reels or cassettes (no higher than 1st/2nd gen). The rarity of this Fan Club press makes it difficult to ascertain where vinyl was printed and/or any mastering work that was done. As of now, every piece of info has been entered from this release, other than the unidentifiable (potential) record companies listed on the labels (EG Killer Instinct, "Tortire," etc). ----------------------
Vinyl is very nice, with good luster, no scratches. I took close-ups of the labels, and as you can see, they look practically brand new for 30+ years old. Would be NM but for some smudging, which has zero affect on play or added noise. Sleeve a bit worn on all corners, and the paper covering is also worn a bit from the years, but no tears. No seam rips or big problems, just a bit worn. Nice rarity, overall. There is no year on the release, but I'm guessing it is from the early '80s.
I will combine shipping - $1 more per record. Check out my other listings.
Most important!!!! Ask if you have questions prior to buying. If you need extra pictures, I'm happy to send them.
I take great pride in my perfect seller rating, so my goal is to ensure a smooth transaction and that you get what you expect - which is why I have detailed the condition of the sleeve and vinyl. No returns on this, as it is an open, used recording. If there is a major issue, please PM me and we'll see what we can work out. If indeed there is a need for return, and a return is granted, buyer will pay for return shipping with insurance. Records will ship via USPS Media Mail, which can take up to 8 business days from coast to coast (I'm in California), so please be aware of that.
I guarantee to ship within 24 hours of payment, or next business day. If I receive payment before 1:00pm PST I will ship the same day. I also guarantee to send you a PM letting you know the item has shipped, and upload tracking number the day I ship the set.
I ship internationally via EBay's Global Shipment Program. See their details if you are outside the U.S. Ship time and fees are different.
Thanks for looking, and please ask if you have questions.
