UK FIRST PRESSING ORANGE LABELS VINYL LP IN GATEFOLD.
This record was mastered at Pye Studios by Tony Bridge, and is has stunningly good audio. Pye's mastering and attention to detail can be heard on many early Warner Bros. UK releases, A&M brown label albums and numerous other indie labels of the period. Garcia's liquid guitar runs on 'Dark Star' have never sounded warmer and more inviting. We were always under the impression that this was a rather dull, lifeless live recording of the Dead at one of their musical peaks, but then we hadn't heard the orange heavy vinyl first pressing before. All is revealed, everything is crisp, sharp and the bass is firm and warm, Garcia’s tone is perfect - if you have never heard this definitive version of 'Dark Star' on either a USA or UK first pressing, then you haven't really heard it properly yet. USA vinyl tends to be noiser than these thick, high quality UK Pye pressings.

DISCS: PLAY EXCELLENT MINUS, NO SKIPS OR JUMPS. CLEAN VINYLS WITH NO SCRATCHES AND MINOR SPINDLE WEAR, JUST A FEW LIGHT HAIRLINES AND FINGERNAIL SCUFFS THAT ARE NOT SCRATCHES. A SPLENDID PLAYING COPY THAT VISUALLY GRADES VERY GOOD+ TO EXCELLENT MINUS.
