Warner Bros. 1830
Sealed copy of the band's first official all-live release from 1969. Per Wikipedia, "It was recorded over a series of live concerts in early 1969 and released later in the year on November 10. A landmark live album that captured the Grateful Dead's improvisations at their best – All Music Guide would write that 'Few recordings have ever represented the essence of an artist in performance as faithfully as Live/Dead – it is also the final album with keyboardist Tom Constanten.'"
I don't know if this is a first or second press -- and I don't know if there's a way of telling without opening it. The spine reads "1830 LIVE DEAD / THE GRATEFUL DEAD" and down near the bottom "PRINTED IN U.S.A." Interesting that the band was able to get Warner Bros. to release a product that didn't say Warner Bros. anywhere on the cover.
This is a sealed copy that can be expected to play perfectly. The cover is in superb condition.
All seams are intact and there is no ringwear. The only flaw is the bottom right corner where the cellophane is broken. There is wear on the cover's bottom right corner and cardboard is beginning to fray at the tip. Otherwise the cover is like new. There are no cutout marks or signs of moisture damage.
