“Grateful Dead” fan Club. Letter to confirm they will not tour “unless the situation is groovy.” Provenance is clean as these have always been mine as mail envelope validates.

I’ve had this since circa 1975. Not sure if these two (2) ~6" forty-five-size 33-1/3 rpm records came together or separately? I believe together.  Same with the paperwork and (8) small 5-1/4 x 5-1/4; poster/cards. I think they are promotional album cover replicas that also came with the Dead Heads news letter and letter from Round Records owner Anton Round. The copyright on the records is 1975, so I assume the release of these club records was around that time. Also because they were mailed to my home, and 1975 was about the time dad kicked me out! (Mushrooms in the fridge and a kilo of weed hanging out the window- LOL;)

Included in this purchase:

·      “Dear Dead People:” fan letter including synopsis for Dead, Garcia, Godchaux, Kreutzman, Lesh, and Weir. Signed: Grateful Dead Records min. rounded/crinkled corners see photos for letter content and condition.

·      “Junk Mail” envelope with art upper left corner; check boxes for three posters “WAKE OF THE FLOOD”, MARS HOTEL”, “GARCIA” $5 (naturally no longer valid) yellowed but immaculate upon inspection. Posters were not included!

·      ROUND RECORDS, letter signed: “See ya: Anton Round” (form letter and printed signature) min. rounded/crinkled corners. See photos for content and condition.

My guess from the SMP #’s below there was probably a SMP 102 A&B, but, I for obvious reasons mentioned above, - I haven’t a clue.

(2) 33-1/3 RPM  SAMPLER FOR DEAD HEADS copyright 1975 Round Records (these are the size of old 45 style records)

·      The record sleeves are the original made of paper and are also definitely yellow from age – not sunlight.

 I can’t see any rub marks or fingerprints, but I’ll bet I played them once or twice max!

(8)Cards 5-1/4” square: Most don’t look faded or rubbed, Seastones’ white looks yellowed but again I’m not sure. Corners square edges clean.

Original mailing envelope is not bad but a little ratty. And still has my address label on it.
